Classifying a Revised TVC
The process for classifying a revised television commercial is similar to classifying a new TVC. “Revisions" include changes to voice-overs, product inserts or cut-downs.
The revised TVC application process is as follows:
| 1. |
Complete a new Application/Order form. |
| 2. |
Attach a copy of the revised audio/visual script detailing the revision (clearly indicating changes made). |
| 3. |
Provide a covering letter confirming the revision. You must quote the original key number and/or CAD Number issued. You may also need to re-supply substantiation if the original documentation is no longer valid. |
| 4. |
Supply a copy of the material either on VHS (with a revised ID board) or using Adstream, Dubsat/IntaCAD or DVD-CAD/Rastis services. |
Minor Revisions to TVCs – Paperwork Only
In circumstances where only a minor change is made to an existing TVC, CAD may be able to issue a new CAD Number for the revised material upon submission of ‘paperwork only’.
The revised TVC application should include the following:
| 1. |
An Application/Order Form. |
| 2. |
A full audio/visual script with the minor revision clearly indicating changes made. |
| 3. |
A covering letter confirming the revision, quoting the original key number and/or CAD Number issued. |
Below are examples of when a ‘paperwork only’ submission (Application/Order Form/Revised Script) may suffice:
• Amendment to a phone number or removal/addition of a phone number
• Amendment to a website address or removal/addition of a web address
• Dealer tags - addition or amendment to an existing dealer tag
• Film release tags eg change from "Starts Thursday" to “Now Showing” revisions
• DVD, CD, cinema release tags eg "In store Monday" to "Out Now" revisions
• Addition of closed captions
• Change to audio mix/colour grading
• Logo changed/added.
CAD reserves the right to request the final vision.
Please note, ‘paperwork only’ revisions do not include cut-downs and changes to product inserts (eg retail advertising). While these are classed as revisions, CAD requires your Application/Order form, a full audio/visual script detailing the revisions made, any substantiation or documentation (which is not on hand at CAD) and a copy of the TVC. If you are in doubt as to what materials you need to provide with your application, please contact CAD.
CAD must receive ALL materials at least two (2) working days prior to your despatch date.
