Commercials Advice

CAD provides classification and information services to advertisers, agencies and production houses in relation to television commercials and infomercials. All television commercials and infomercials must be classified before they can be broadcast. It is important to note that CAD does not provide legal advice. It is the responsibility of each advertiser and or its advertising agency to ensure that their commercial/s comply with all relevant laws and regulatory requirements.

Please use the link on the left hand navigation panel to access CAD's Online Application System.

From 1 August 2010, new fees will apply. For a copy of the new fee schedules, click here.

CAD requires a minimum of two working days, upon receipt of all your TVC materials, to process your application. Same day classification will only be provided if pre-arranged through CAD. Same day service is in no way guaranteed until it is confirmed by CAD. For further information on fees please refer to the Forms, Fees and Guides.

For more information about CAD's services, classification procedures and television production guidelines please download a copy of the latest Classification Handbook (January 2010 edition). It incorporates recent changes to the Code of Practice and the ACMA's Children's Television Standards.
