Convergence Review
The Convergence Review was an independent review established by the Australian Government to examine the policy and regulatory frameworks that apply to the converged media and communications landscape in Australia. The Convergence Review Committee released it's final report in March last year. The Government has since tabled a series of reforms which are currently before Parliament.
The media landscape is changing rapidly with content available across an array of entertainment platforms and devices. As the most heavily regulated, licenced and taxed sector, commercial broadcasters need reduced, better-targeted regulation to be able to compete fairly and meet the challenges of the future.
